Poorly closing couplings, old hoses, or worn and leaking seals are all areas where compressed air can be escaping your compressed air systems. Even a minimal leakage however can be responsible for excessive costs. A leak of only 3mm at a pressure of 7 bar can cost you up to €1300 (£1150 / $1500) per year. And with higher pressure, the loss of compressed air is even higher.

You might have a compressed air leakage when:
When you walk by your compressed air piping big leakages can be audible through a hissing sound. Repair these leaks as soon as possible. Big leakages are less common that small inaudible leaks, but they waste a lot of compressed air. Check your piping systems every couple of months so make sure big leakages aren’t costing you a lot of money.
When you are using compressed air, while your consumers aren’t using any, there are probably multiple small leakages that contribute to the compressed air loss.
Does the pressure drop in your compressed air piping system? Is your compressor working harder to supply the same compressed air pressure and airflow. This could indicate a leak, more likely multiple leaks. Compressed air piping systems have been known to have leakages that can amount to 25% loss of total compressed air. When your piping systems is outdated, consider updating to a new and leak free AIRnet aluminum piping system.
